A winery is only as good as the vineyard supplying the grapes, but to truly appreciate the wines these companies put out you need to see the fields for yourself. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the seven best vineyards and wines in the US and across the world. When you read about these vineyards you’ll want to book a flight, pack your things, activate the security adt system and hit the road.

1. To Kalon Vineyard
Their wine is loaded with a luscious flavor described as velvety.

2. Rochioli Vineyard
Wines are described as having a very fruity (raspberry) taste with a hint of spice.

3. Bien Nacido Vineyard
This vineyard produces some of the best wine on the planet with an herbal Pinot bursting with flavor.

4. Monte Rosso Vineyard
As one of California’s oldest vineyards it is known for producing some incredible old-vine Zinfandels.

5. Durrell Vineyard
Fine producers of rich Chardonnays and Syrahs.

6. Peay Vineyard
Their signature Syrah has been noted to contain a hint of meat that’s been roasted and pepper.

7. Selene Hyde Vineyard
With a vineyard maintained largely without the need of herbicides, they can produce a wonderful, melon-tinged Sauvignon Blanc that’s just brimming with flavor.
