Among the greatest wines of all time the ’47 Cheval Blanc would certainly have to lead the rest. The ’47 Cheval Blanc has been compared to taste more like a Vinho do Porto rather than the Bordeaux it was intended to be. This wine has become a milestone in the world of wines as something all Bordeaux can hope to become.

The Dom. Romanee Conti ’97 would certainly have to be among the greatest wines, this wine is a burgundy and is one of French’s greatest wines. You can find a quick rundown here Combined within this wine’s dark color rests many intoxicating flavors of licorice, flowers as well as soy sauce.

Petrus Pomerol ’98 has been regarded as one of the most expensive wines available; the Petrus Pomerol 1998 is a merlot. The flavors in and of them selves are something that should preferably be experienced rather than explained, while they create an enchanting taste of the many fruits and berries that created this merlot. This merlot also hints of mocha, subtle flavors of vanilla and oak. It would be best to wait until after 2012 to enjoy this wine, as this is when the grapes have fully matured.

Chteau Le Pin Pomerol ’99 is another fantastic wine and is the Thienpoint’s prize creation from their family vineyard. This Chteau Le Pin Pomerol is one of the 6,000 that they create every year. The flavors of this wine include black currents, hints of mocha and cherries.

The Domaine Romane-Conti has been regarded as the finest wine in the world. It has been said that it flows with the darkest red a wine has ever had. Flavors such as liqourice are subtly noticed as one is told that the flavor is common to other wines in the regions of La Tache. Flavors that only an experienced taster would be able to pick up on their own.

A winery is only as good as the vineyard supplying the grapes, but to truly appreciate the wines these companies put out you need to see the fields for yourself. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the seven best vineyards and wines in the US and across the world. When you read about these vineyards you’ll want to book a flight, pack your things, activate the security adt system and hit the road.

1. To Kalon Vineyard
Their wine is loaded with a luscious flavor described as velvety.

2. Rochioli Vineyard
Wines are described as having a very fruity (raspberry) taste with a hint of spice.

3. Bien Nacido Vineyard
This vineyard produces some of the best wine on the planet with an herbal Pinot bursting with flavor.

4. Monte Rosso Vineyard
As one of California’s oldest vineyards it is known for producing some incredible old-vine Zinfandels.

5. Durrell Vineyard
Fine producers of rich Chardonnays and Syrahs.

6. Peay Vineyard
Their signature Syrah has been noted to contain a hint of meat that’s been roasted and pepper.

7. Selene Hyde Vineyard
With a vineyard maintained largely without the need of herbicides, they can produce a wonderful, melon-tinged Sauvignon Blanc that’s just brimming with flavor.

Fittingly, some of the most popular, best tasting, and best selling wines are produced and crafted in Italy. Despite the fact that Italy is known for their exquisite red wines, they are certainly not a one-trick pony in the production of their country-s wines. Italy crafts some of the most exciting white wines in the world. Unfortunately, the white grape whines in Italy tend to go fairly unnoticed to all except for the avid wine collectors and white wine fans. However, this certainly does not mean that these white wines should not go unnoticed.

Some of the greatest white wines can be found in the country of France, as well. Like Italy, France is by all means noted for their delectable red wines that are known all over the world. And, like Italy, many white wines go unnoticed except for the avid wine tasters and collectors. However, even though the majority of people like their red wines, if the exquisite white wines of Europe were introduced to avid red wine drinkers, there may just be a couple changes of hearts. Some of the world-s finest wines are of the white descent, and certainly deserve a chance by any wine drinker.

Even if you aren’t a self-proclaimed wine drinker, don’t rule out attending a wine tasting. While the name makes you think that you have to be a wine enthusiast, you don’t need to be. Wine tastings are a great chance to broaden your horizons and to introduce you to new culture.

A wine tasting isn’t for the pure fact of drinking to an oblivion, in fact you only receive an ounce or two of each wine to taste. You don’t have to partake in each wine either, if you really have a dislike for say, red wine, you can pass on the red wines that are offered. But giving your taste buds a chance to taste a few wines, and to see how wine can really enhance foods that you may already eat, is really worth giving wine tastings a try.

Wine tastings aren’t all about just drinking wine either. They are a great social opportunity, giving you the chance to mingle with other people, both wine drinkers and non-wine drinkers. Some wine tastings also have great music or art to appreciate, again giving you a chance to discover new culture. The next time you are invited to a wine tasting, go ahead and give it a try!

There are many fun things you can do while visiting a vineyard. Vineyards aren’t always about seeing how wine is made. Many vineyards offer a lot of other activities. Checking out the gift shops and boutiques on the grounds always proves to be a fun activity at a vineyard. Of course tasting all of the different varieties of wines that come from the particular vineyard you are at is always a lot of fun. Also take a nice hike and check out the grounds and how the grapes are grown. Always look for the schedule of events when you first arrive. Many vineyards offer lots of extra activities like guided walks, special shows, art exhibitions, and even private concerts. A really fun thing to do at a vineyard is to taste test all of the wines and try to guess which kind it is. This can be played as a team even and while you enjoy your wine make sure to learn the history and culture behind each one. Most vineyards also have some type of restaurant or cafeteria on its grounds so be sure to check that out and enjoy some of the local foods to the region you are in.

Wine country can mean different things to different people. The affluent consumers will probably think of Martha’s Vinyard when they plan a trip to wine country, but there are many different wine countries throughout the United Stats. Wineries can be found in the Northeast, the Southeast, the Midwest and even the Pacific Northwest. Wineries often host bed and breakfasts and tours for the people who want to see their operations. They even may sponsor wine tasting competitions.Confused? Here ‘s a little help .

When planning a trip to wine country or even just planning a trip to the wine country, you should schedule your trip so that it coincides with the event you want to see. If it is a wine tasting festival, you may have to book the trip well in advance of when you actually plan to take it. You need to make sure that other things are ready. You need to arrange for your travel plans and for your lodging. You also need to budget for the trip. You may want to spend money on things like souvenirs as well. You’ll probably want to bring home at least one bottle of wine from the trip. Proper planning can help you do all of that.
